When it is good that they know to set garbage in its area alternatively than littering, we need to teach them which are the waste materials that can still be recycled. While they could learn the basics at school, it is up to the adults particularly their parents to inculcate them about the importance of recycling through setting an example.

Place various recycling bins in your household. It should be segregated accordingly, for instance set a bin for plastics, another for green wastes, and so forth. If necessary remind your children at night through conversing about the bins and what goes in them. Train them about how the various elements are taken to recycling centers and built into new materials for other industries. This is a critical step. The little ones require to know exactly where the goods go and what transpires to them after they set them in the bin. If you can provide a video clip of a recycling plant or even arrange a tour then it will make a major impression on your household. When they realize what occurs to the waste they will be a lot more likely to recycle.

Assign one particular person to be in charge of the bins every single week. If you have recycling area at home, that person will be accountable for monitoring and keeping the area clean. If you have to place your waste to a central site, have someone older help load the bins in the automobile and empty them when you get to the recycling center.

Teaching children how to recycle is one way of educating them about the importance of environmental conservation.

Five Gas Saving Tips

<object data="http://www.articlevideorobot.com/movies/player.swf" height="301" style="height: 301px; It refers to the misdirected or misused light that is generally resulting from an inappropriate application of outdoor lighting products. Light pollution may be present in various effects:

1. Sky Glow – It is the light escaping into the night sky and causing a glow over urban/suburban areas.
2. Glare – it is the light shining dangerously out into people’s eyes as they walk or drive by.
3. Light Trespass - unwanted light shining onto a neighbor’s property or into their home.

But why does light pollution concerns us all?

In various ways light pollution affects many people and some of these are quite obvious. It wastes billions of dollars annually in many countries particularly in United States. The unused light wastes incredible amounts of valuable natural resources such as fossil fuels and other energy source.

Light pollution also contributes to air pollution through needless generation of electricity (most of which comes from fossil fuels). This is not only about wasting our natural resources but contributing to environmental impact. The air pollution is one serious problem that affects large segments of the population.

This light pollution even harms nocturnal wildlife. Many species won't even go near an area that has bad lighting. Also, many species will simply stop reproducing if habitat destruction from overly bright lights becomes too severe. It is currently threatens all Florida Sea Turtles.

The light pollution is also said to harm human health and being linked to some serious illness such as breast cancer. It is even thought of as second hand smoke in the 1980's. Back then many people laughed at the idea that one person could smoke... and another person could be harmed. Today, we know that this is in fact the case and can happen too with light pollution.

Light pollution while it is roughly recognized by many has actually contributed to ecological problems. To minimize this, we must help in environmental protection such as saving energy and implementing green habits to our daily living.

Eco-Friendly Clock

Efficient and Environmental Clock!

Clean Energy Water Clock is one of a kind eco-product. Its electrical energy is generated from water by electrochemical reaction between the water and the devices electrodes. The electrical energy that is produced is what powers the digital clock display.

Aside from water, its compartments can also be filled with moist soil and the clock can still generate power for the digital display. This clock is really efficient and eco-friendly! This even allows you to grow small plants, and help cleanse the indoor air.

The Clean Energy Water Clock is available in two colours, green and clear, and measures 18 cm x 3.7 cm x 9.5 cm (7.1 in x 1.5 in x 3.7 in). The water clock is an attractive way to keep time in an eco-friendly way, and makes an interesting feature to any room. Although these events are truly destructive to human health and the environment, there are other environmental hazards everywhere that we are not all aware of. These are maybe present at your own home, office and public places and could affect our daily lives particularly our health. But if we create awareness and do the proper precautions we can lessen or eliminate the effects they could bring to our lives and the environment.

Environmental hazards may be contained in our household and commercial cleaning products, preservatives, chemicals in garments and furniture, paints, and other materials. Long-term exposure to these chemicals can cause adverse effects to humans particularly to children. Moreover, environmental hazard may be in the form of natural agents such as air pollution, cancer-causing sunlight and water pollution.

By creating awareness and proper precautions we can avoid long-term exposure to environmental hazards. For example, we can always choose environmental materials or products which we are using daily. Many green resources are now available in the market such as green cleaning products for home and office cleaning. We can also prevent and limit our exposure to environmental hazards by starting a green living lifestyle and start supporting green energy sources.

Green Zen Living: Five Important Lessons in Life

Green Zen Living post #1

The following are some of the things I've learned in life. Hope you'll like this post.

1. Everything that has stressed you doesn’t really matter in life. Projects, due dates and disappointments are just part of everyday life and shouldn’t be the reason of not having time with your love ones. What really important in life is your connection to our Creator, to your family and friends. By saying all these things, it doesn’t mean I regretted the hard work. For a while, like others, I forgot what life really means.

2. The world doesn’t stop for your grief. If you are disappointed and unhappy just go on with your life and forget the drama. Being miserable won’t help you overcome obstacles you might just as well be happy and make your time worthwhile.

3. Green living can teach you how to be frugal. I used to be an impulse buyer but when I started my green living project, I learned how to plan my finances and check the labels before buying. It’s hard at first but you'll survive. Every time you want to buy something ask yourself with these questions first, “Do I really need this? Is it environmental?”

4. Saving is all worth the sacrifices. This is something that I wished I should have pay attention to before. Thinking the all money I’ve wasted with my impulse spending before makes me sigh. I just realized that it''s important to be wise when it comes to managing finances.

5. Waking up early is an amazing start. You can do many things when rising early (exception to the night shift people). You don’t have to rush when preparing for work and you’ll have enough time for your morning exercise. Moreover, having the time to watch the sunrise is really a great experience.

Saving Earth Starts at Home

Most people would agree that our habits or what we do at home have a strong impact on our environment. Whether or not we realize it, we sometimes contribute to earth’s deterioration. A simple example is when using appliances, sometimes we forget to turn them off. If we really want to save the earth, we should start doing it at home. The following are some energy saving tips you can easily follow at home:

1. Unplug. Always unplug any electronic devices when not in use.

2. Use green cleaning products. Always check the label when buying your home cleaning or office cleaning products. Make sure it does not contain environmental toxins.

3. Take shorter showers. Taking shorter showers save a lot of energy at the same time cut costs on your water bill and water heating.

4. Reduce garbage. As much as possible do not buy stuff that you don’t actually need. Learn to recycle bottles, papers, and plastics at home.

5. Organize things. When everything at home is disorganized you tend to consume more. For example, buying things (such as bottle containers, papers, accessories) you thought you don’t have but in truth are only hidden somewhere in your house.

6. Turn off the lights. Always turn off the lights when you are not using them.

If you have other energy saving tips, feel free to include yours below.

Towards a Green Environment

Green environment is something that nations endeavor to achieve just to secure a sustainable future. This is a dream that is yet to attain by most nations. We cannot deny the reality that depicts our now beaten world, a reality of various ecological concerns not to mention the aggravating poverty worldwide. If we are about to view environment today, there is still hope left which we can carry on our quest for sustainability and greener planet. However, there is no right time for it but only right decision for our environment. We must choose what is best for our planet earth, for our now endangered environment.

According to 14th Dalai Lama of Tibet, it is not difficult to forgive the destruction in the past, which resulted from ignorance. He said, "Today, however we have access to more information, and it is essential that we re-examine ethically what we have inherited, what we are responsible for, and what we will pass on to coming generations.” With our today’s technologies we can really do something to help save our environment. Just like what Dalai Lama said, we have all the resources. We just have to take action and start doing something for our worsening environmental problems.

Green Cleaning Products

Green cleaning sounds cool and great. But what products can be used safely for the environment? When buying your cleaning products it’s still better to read the labels than rely on their “greenwashing” advertisement. That is the exact reason why we need to distinguish which products contain the harmful chemicals o r toxins.

Most of the products that are labeled "harmful if swallowed," "causes burns on contact" or "avoid exposure to vapor” are actually already giving clues to their chemical content.

<noindex>Below are some of these contents that can harm human health and our environment (From New hope’s blog):

Alkyphenols: These Common in multisurface cleaners and liquid laundry detergents.

Aromatic hydrocarbons: (naphthalene, organic solvents, trichloroethane): Used in degreasers, deodorizers, air fresheners, all-purpose cleaners and liquid laundry detergents.

Butyl cellosolve: Found in metal polishes and grease removers.

Chlorinated compounds: Found in sanitizing and bleaching agents, dry-cleaning solvents, tub and tile cleaners and toilet-bowl cleaners. The Washington Toxic Coalition’s Philip Dickey warns that one of the most common home accidents involves mixing products containing chlorine bleach with those containing ammonia, which causes a chemical reaction that produces a gas that is highly irritating to the lungs.

Petroleum distillates: Typical ingredients in floor waxes, furniture polishes, degreasers and all-purpose cleaners.

Phthalates: Used in air fresheners and multipurpose cleaners.

Phosphates: Although they have been banned from many products, phosphates still can be found in many automatic- dishwashing detergents.

</noindex>

The next time you buy your office cleaning or home cleaning products make sure to check the label. Be an advocate of environmental protection and green living!

Help the Environment by Eating Organic Food

Yes indeed, you can help save our environment by simply eating organic food. Generally, in our modern world nowadays most food available in the market contains preservatives and additives thus are not really healthy at all and most of the time the production of these require more amount of energy usage and chemical fertilizers and pesticides than with the organic food.

With organic farming, the methods used can help in conserving the soil fertility and rich biodiversity. It is a form of sustainable agriculture wherein food products are produced without causing harm to the environment particularly with the land. Organic fertilizers such as compost are used instead of chemical fertilizers. By patronizing organic food, you are as well helping conserve the environment.

The main goal of organic agriculture is to conserve natural resources like water. Farmers grow plants based on the local environment this way they are able to conserve water. For example instead of irrigating dry lands, farmers grow plants that are suited to a dry environment. In addition, organic producers are very particular when it comes to conserving the fertility of soil or conserving the nutrients in it thus there is no need for them to use chemicals.

These methods are only some of the practices of organic agriculture which helps in preventing environmental pollution. To help the environment, simply patronize organic food.

Household Toxins

There are various environmental toxins that cause serious effects to human health and our environment. These toxins may be present in our homes. Below are some of the common household toxins which we are not aware of;

<noindex>Bisphenol A (BPA) – is an organic compound used for polycarbonate plastic and epoxy resins production. This is also found in water bottles, baby bottles, plastic wraps and food packaging. According to a study it can cause brain and behavioral effects on fetuses and young children when exposed at certain level.</noindex>

<noindex>Flouride – Yes, it’s the fluoride found in toothpaste and sometimes tap water. According to American Dental Association children below two years old are not advisable to use toothpaste with fluoride. It may cause neurotic and potentially tumorigenic if swallowed.</noindex>

<noindex>Phthalates- these are substances used to increase the flexibility, transparency and durability of plastics. In the United States, Canada and European Union phthalates are being phased out due to health concerns. These chemicals are usually found in toys, vinyl flooring, detergents, food packaging and shampoos. One of its health hazards according to some studies is an evidence of a link to liver cancers.</noindex>

<noindex>Perchlorate – Used in pyrotechnics industry. This chemical is found in drinking water, soil, and sometimes in vegetables. The known health hazard is disruption of thyroid’s hormone production.</noindex>

<noindex>Decabromodiphenyl Ether (DECA) – It is a brominated flame retardant that may be used in television industry, synthetic carpets, and upholstery fabric. Effects of this include memory deficits, and hearing defects.</noindex>

Protect Our Environment with Biosphere Technology

We could restore the already deteriorating environment even in our own simple ways. If in our own house, we keep everything clean and safe so we could live comfortably, we can do the same with our planet. It is our home that we need to clean and protect. What is essential right now is that we find methods that could help to conserve our environment. Use of renewable energy and reforestation projects could mean a lot to resolve this environmental problem. We could rely on green technologies such as the biosphere technology which converts waste materials into clean green energy.

Biosphere Technology is a waste to energy system that efficiently and ecologically converts waste materials into green energy. It is a gasification process wherein waste materials undergo thermal decomposition at elevated temperature and oxygen starved environment. During this process a mixed gas is produced referred as synthesis gas which is used to fire the steam boiler for green energy generation. Moreover, in the entire biosphere process other marketable byproducts are produced such as inert ash, high alloy steel wire and carbon black. These by products can be used by other industries as raw materials.

Through biosphere technology, we could help clean up and conserve the environment by providing efficient and reliable solution for waste management and energy generation. This technology can significantly decrease our reliance on fossil fuels when it comes to energy production. We all know that energy is very important in global development and in sustaining our modes of livelihood. However if we continue to rely on fossil fuels particularly on oil, we are as well destroying our very own planet. Burning of fossil fuels emits greenhouse gases such as carbon dioxide that greatly contributes in global warming. Another problem with fossil fuels is it destroys our natural resources thus affecting ecosystems and wildlife. But with biosphere technology, it does need to exploit natural reserves since it uses waste materials to produce energy. This technology is even counted as renewable energy source based on American Energy Policy Act of 2005 and the Philippine Renewable Energy Law (RA 9513) of the Philippines which confirmed that energy from waste is renewable.

Energy Sustainability through Biosphere Technology

The Biosphere Technology or Biosphere Process™ is a form of gasification wherein it destroys wastes to generate green energy. It works under Zero Waste Philosophy wherein it recycles all feedstocks back into nature or the marketplace in a way that protects both public health and our environment. With this technology the campaign towards energy sustainability and environment conservation is really achievable. Aside from the fact that it eradicates problems brought by wastes, it is also the answer to the growing demand on energy worldwide. According to SBSC, a single Biosphere Plant can make electricity continually in 5 MW per hour increments and can recycle up to 720 tons of garbage and destroy up to 172 tons of non-recyclable garbage per day.

Biosphere Technology can really replace fossil fuels in few years time since it is also viable to recover alternative fuels and raw materials from wastes. Aside from the generation of electricity its process can produce inert ash, carbon black, high alloy steel wire and distilled water. No wonder the technology is widely used by many countries, such as Unites States, United Kingdom, Germany, Beirut, China, Taiwan, Brazil, Libya, Italy, Canada, West Africa, Singapore, China, Japan, Russia and Canada.

There are five distinct stages in Biosphere Process. (1) MSW are collected and brought into the biosphere facility site; (2) MSW goes through the sorting line to provide separation for various materials such as plastics, rubber recovery, metals, glass, etc.; (3) Materials are forced through a biosphere densifier, which compacts the MSW into 20g flakes with 15-20% moisture; (4) The biosphere flakes produced are then converted into 1000 (degree) C, 1800 (degree) C flux through the biosphere venturi 5. In this process inert ash is produced; (5) the flux produced in stage four is then used to generate green electricity.

For more information about biosphere technology visit www.spectrumbluesteel.com

Waste management at its best

Waste can be generated in all sorts of ways. It is considered to be the end product of both natural and artificial processes such as manufacturing, chemical reactions, and even events in biochemical pathways. In the Philippines, about 1.3 Million tons per year of wastes are generated according to IMO report of 1995 and based on DENR (Department of Environment and Natural Resources) records about 6,700 tons are being generated in the National Capital Region alone every day but only approximately 10% are being recycled or composted. The remaining 90% goes straight to dump sites, rivers, streets and backyards. This is the reason why waste management has been considered to be one of the major problems in the country for many years now.

The excellent solution which Philippine government officials thought of is the use of the latest development in Eco Technology, the Biosphere Process™. It is a gasification process wherein it can convert wastes into green energy using an environmental friendly process. The technology is an invention of Dr. Christopher McCormack, the Chairman and CEO of Global Environmental Energy Corporation (GEECF).

Wastes that can be converted into green energy using the technology includes municipal solid waste, agricultural waste, forestry surpluses or wastes, industrial waste, medical waste materials, traditional fossil fuels and other wastes materials. And aside from the green energy that it can generate, it also produces pozzolanic ash, high-alloy steel wire, carbon black and gallons of distilled water.

Through the initiatives of Spectrum Blue Steel Corporation (SBSC) together with True Green Energy Group (TGEG), the Biosphere Process™ is now ongoing deployment in various cities and municipalities of the Philippines including the City of San Fernando Pampanga, where the first biosphere facility in the country would be located. SBSC is an environmental company that has an exclusive license to sell, lease, market, install, and operate the Biosphere Process™ in the Philippines. The company believes that trash can be used onwards to sustainability and cleaner environment through this revolutionary breakthrough on waste management.

Light Catchers

Save electricity by using a solar-powered yard lamp or commonly known as the sun jar. Its principle is so simple yet very clever; it gathers and stores solar light during the day and releases the light at night. Inside the sun-jar are highly efficient solar cell, rechargeable battery and low energy LED lamp. During the day, the solar cell inside the jar creates an electrical current that charges the battery over a few hours. If fully charged, the sun-jar can provide five hours of light. Sun jar comes into three colors; yellow, blue and pink. You can make your own Sun Jar or purchase it at www.suck.uk.com.

Ronald Shane Flynn, Making a Difference

"Man often becomes what he believes himself to be. If I keep on saying to myself that I cannot do a certain thing, it is possible that I may end by really becoming incapable of doing it. On the contrary, if I have the belief that I can do it, I shall surely acquire the capacity to do it even if I may not have it at the beginning." — Mahatma Gandhi

Just like Mahatma Gandhi TGEG Founder and CEO Ronald Shane Flynn is true to say that a man becomes what he believes himself to be. On his speech during a TGEG general assembly he even said that if we believe in ourselves we can make a difference in this world. It started with a dream of making this world a better place to live in. Amid global economic crisis Ronald Flynn together with his diligent team, they founded True Green Energy Group (TGEG) in 2009 with a vision of achieving a greener and cleaner environment for everyone. As a leader leads by example, whether he intends to or not Ronald Flynn in association with TGEG and SBSC (Spectrum Blue Steel Corporation) continues to advocate this campaign through various environmental projects such as deployment of Biosphere technology in the Philippines.

By encouraging LGU’s in the Philippines to explore renewable energy from wastes, SBSC and TGEG now have ongoing biosphere facility projects with various cities in the Philippines including City of San Fernando Pampanga. This would be a great breakthrough in the Philippines because after long years, finally there’s a permanent solution for wastes problem.

Reminiscing "The Girl Who Silenced the World for 5 Minutes"

Let's all be reminded of our cause by watching this video of Severn Suzuki He is also the founder of Spectrum Blue Steel Corporation, the company that was given rights by GEECF (Global Environmental Energy Corporation) to manage, sell and promote Biosphere Technology in the Philippines.
In 2009 he started the True Green Energy Group with a vision of helping our deteriorating planet earth through the use of biosphere technology. He has proved to the public that with this technology wastes can be made into something useful such as green energy.

His career life has focused mainly in energy policy and other related areas. He advocates the use of green technology. It is the application of environmental science to conserve and maintain the balance of natural environment and resources. And just like John Baldacci, he believes that energy consumption matters both to our environment and economy. He has also promoted the use of renewable energy and energy efficiency. Together with his TGEG and SBSC team they brought the biosphere technology around the world. This technology is a gasification process that destroys wastes to derive clean green energy.

Truly Ronald Flynn is a certified earth warrior in his own ways. However, as what we always see around us, areas for landfills have started to run out and landfill operations have considerably caused great damage to our environment. And with these problems, we cannot just disregard our need for reliable waste management measures. Moreover, solid wastes problem is the number one cause of today’s health issues and destruction of our ecosystems.

In landfill operations alone, the leaching of contaminants out of the soil into groundwater causes damaging effects to many aquatic plants and animals, and worse it even contaminates human drinking water. High concentration of harmful metals (such as lead and cadmium) and other potentially harmful compounds are usually present in landfills. What we can do now is minimize the grade of land pollution that caused by industries and other human activities.

By taking actions and having concrete laws and regulations we can prevent further damages to our environment caused by waste problems. We can also consider the use of technologies that handles wastes in environment-friendly manner and at the same time are cost-efficient. An example is the biosphere technology which is now being used by many countries. This technology uses gasification process that can destroy solid wastes and turn it into green energy. Through technologies like this, we can even lessen the dependence on fossil fuels and totally eliminate the use of landfills.

Now, are you ready to take action and join the world in mitigating our environmental problems?

Waste at Its Best

Waste is generated in all sorts of ways. Its composition and volume largely depend on consumption patterns and the industrial and economic structures in place. It is considered to be the end product of both natural and artificial processes such as manufacturing, chemical reactions, and even events in biochemical pathways. With continuous population increase and industrial development waste has become one of the major problems worldwide.
But to other people and industries wastes are not just waste that cause problems in various communities. These wastes can also become a resource and a material supply for producing products. Many industries are now recycling and destroying wastes to be used for their products.

However, we all know that not all wastes are recyclable and there are some wastes that could take million years before they decompose. So how do we get rid of these without harming our environment? Good thing there are now technologies that recycles and destroys wastes in a manner that doesn’t harm the environment. One of these technologies is the biosphere technology, a gasification process wherein it harnesses the combustibility of solid wastes (MSW) to create a heat source that produces super heated steam via boiler. Then this super heated steam will then be used to drive a combination stream turbine/alternator that will generate green electricity. If this will be used by all nations it can provide a permanent environmental waste solution through effectively eliminating waste and at the same time it can provide solution to the energy problem we have worldwide.

Waste at its best—that’s what the biosphere technology promises. By destroying solid wastes it can generate four by-products; electricity, carbon black, pozzolanic ash and high alloy steel wire. or biosphere gasification technology is defined as a gasification process that destroys solid wastes in a cost effective and environment friendly method. It is an invention of Dr. Christopher McCormack (Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer of Global Environmental Energy Corporation). Its process has five distinct stages.

Stage One: Municipal solid wastes (MSW) are collected and brought to a centralized Biosphere process facility located at a designated site. Each facility is named as a “One-Stop Shop” providing for up to 100% recycling of the total tonnage of MSW collected. The Biosphere Process facilities are economically viable at 5-8 tons/hr and can be constructed in closed facilities of as little as 3000 square feet. Each Biosphere Process facility is designed to be a standalone facility, with internal air control ensuring it does not emit any prohibited emissions to the atmosphere.

Stage Two: The MSW are sorted to provide separation for compost production, plastics and rubber recovery, metals, and glass. Its aggregate recovery and electrical power generation typically operates at a rate of tons/hr. Each receiving line separates MSW into two feedstock streams comprising putrescible (organic) and non-putrescible (non-organic) materials. Putrescible materials which are usually comprised of 20% by volume are rapidly composted and recycled into high nutrient value soil additives and fertilizers using a proprietary vertical accelerated composter. Meanwhile, the non-putrescible materials are further sorted to allow plastics and rubber recovery at around 10% of volume before being shredded in advance for valuable metal recovery. All of the recoverable aluminum and ferrous metals are removed from the waste stream using rotating trammels equipped with band magnets, and hand picking stations. Sands are removed using a Biosphere Separator 2 which achieves the following separation percentage; metals 3.1%, glass 5.2%, aggregates, concrete, dirt, sand, 8.0% and lastly, residual materials suitable for power generation equal to but not more than 53.7% by volume of the initial MSW.

Stage Three: All other materials in the waste stream is forced through a Biosphere Densifier 3, which compacts the MSW into 20g flakes with 15-20% moisture termed Biosphere Flakes 4 at the rate of 30 tons/hour, these flakes drive the Biosphere Process.

Stage Four: The Biosphere Flakes are converted into 1000 (degree) C, 1800 (degree) C flux using a Biosphere Venturi 5. The process is designated to produce an inert ash which is then recycled into a concrete products for the building industry, thus ensuring up a 100% recycling of all MSW handled through the Biosphere Process completely replacing traditional land filling as a method of waste disposal.

Stage Five: The 1000(degree) C to 1800 (degree) C flux produced in stage four is used to power a 6 MW generating electricity.

Watch the flash presentation: How the biosphere works?

Related Posts:

Advantages of Biosphere Technology

Going Green with Biosphere Technology

Biosphere Gasification Technology

Going Green with Biosphere Technology

I’m sure you must have heard about global warming (an environment issue that shouldn’t be ignored for it might end up destroying the world we live in). If there are things that we should be doing to prevent this from happening, the very first thing, is to start going green.

There are many ways on how to be part of going green campaign; an example is the use of green energy. As explained from the previous post, green energy is an energy produced in a manner that is environment friendly. And the best example of green energy is the electricity generated from biosphere technology.

What is biosphere technology?

Biosphere technology is a gasification process that harnesses the combustibility of municipal solid wastes (msw) to create a heat source that produces super heated steam via boiler, which then drives a combination stream turbine to generate electricity. This green technology also helps in cleaning up the environment for it destroys solid wastes in a cost-effective and safe process. There are no toxic leftovers which cause leachate issues and its process uses limited-oxygen environment thus limits atmospheric emissions. [Watch the flash presentation: How the biosphere works? ]

Do you have other going green ideas?Feel free to write your comments or suggestions. :)

What is Green Energy?

Green energy is referred to energy produced in a manner that does not pollute the environment. It’s a subset of renewable energy that may represent the energy sources and technologies with highest environmental benefits. The usual types of green energy that comes in mind are solar, wind, geothermal and hydro energy. But there are more types of green energy such as nuclear energy, ocean energy, biomass, or biosphere gasification technology.

The main goal of green energy is to generate power with little pollution as much as possible. It’s a great thing that technologies nowadays are improving when it comes to their production process. An example of this technology is the biosphere gasification technology. It’s a gasification process that has no toxic leftovers which cause leachate issues and it uses limited-oxygen environment which limits atmospheric emissions. Biosphere technology also helps clean up the environment by destroying solid wastes to produce green electricity and other by-products.

Related Posts:
TGEG: Where Trash Makes Sense
Interesting Facts About Renewable Energy
Waste to Energy?

Thoughts on Global Warming

Carbon emission reduction is not enough to address the problem of global warming. Although many people believe that if we all participate in reducing our carbon footprints it would be possible. Maybe it’s really possible if everyone in this world (particularly the corporate carbon polluters) would be obliged to do so. But in reality, these polluters are even given the right to pollute more. In the Philippines alone, some of its globalization policies are giving way for private sectors to produce and consume more energy from fossil fuels. Just imagine all nations doing the same thing, not only our environment that will be gravely affected but our lives as well. Shouldn’t we all do something now to mitigate the impending effects of global warming?

First, we must understand and solve the underlying cause or root of this environmental crisis in order to implement the right solution. It’s true that the production of energy from fossil fuels—coal, oil, and natural gas is the major source of global warming pollution. But what pushed this thing to happen? Isn’t the greed for economic development? Many could have foreseen this but because of detestable greed for growth they chose to ignore the warnings of our planet’s deterioration. And in order to make a lasting solution for global warming, governments particularly of highly industrialized nations should have reliable economic policies that will not destroy the habitability of this planet and will not risk the lives of many people.

Then, remember that we have a choice… As what Al Gore wrote in his book Our Choice, “We can solve the climate crisis. It will be hard to be sure but if we can make the choice to solve it, I have no doubt whatsoever that we can and will succeed.” We can choose to take action and demand for reliable economic policies or just ignore the threats of global warming that will soon destroy our future.

Finally, make the right choice. Vote for the environment.

For more articles about global warming please log on to True Green Energy Group The Green Program Forum will be joined by the 2010 Election Presidentiables and Senatoriables. In this event the electoral candidates will be given time to present their platforms for the environment. Then, following this forum will be the Eco fashion Show wherein several brands with eco-friendly creations will showcase their products made of recycled, organic and indigenous materials.

For everyone who are also interested in participating this green event, visit facebook page Saving Planet Earth Expo and Conference for more details.
